well, congratulations donaldtrump, you are the most unpopular president in pollinghistory in your first 100 days. during the interview he didfriday he kept saying that is an artificial barrier they put inthere. it is not a barrier.
20 Resources That'll Make You Better at Wedding, you are the one who put forwarda 100 day plan, saying how successful you would be. this poll also has some goodnews for you and some bad news for your opposition.
so, 53 up right ã± 52% disapproveof him, 42% of them approved. terrible numbers. residents are usually the mostpopular in their first 100 days. here is barack obama. in his first 100days he had a 69% approval rating, and only 26%disapproval rating. that is an enormous 27point lead on donald trump, but if you say, okay well fine, obama was unbelievably popular, no, most presidents arepopular in their first 100 days.
they just got elected, andthey get goodwill, and the american people are hopeful. give you the average of allpresidents who were pulled in their first 100 days. 69% approval, 19% disapproval. donald trump, nowhere near thosenumbers. okay, so, as abc news andwashington post explain, he approaches his 100th day in office with the lowestapproval rating at this
point of any other president inpolls since 1945. oops. not good news there. the only person who even comesclose, but even doesn't match him, is gerald ford, and ibecause he had parted richard nixon within his first 100 days, and i was deeply unpopular, and gerald ford still did sixpoints better than donald trump. okay, so, more bad news fortrump. " majority say trump lacksjudgment and the
temperament it takes to serveeffectively. 56% say he has a compass much inhis first 100 days, and that he doesn't follow a consistent setof principles when setting policy" that is not the half ofit. so, lots of bad numbers there. a couple of decent numbers. they are little bit split onwhether he has violated his campaign pledges. i think that number will getprogressively worse for him, as
he has basically done everythingto rebuild the swamp, and billed it bigger and swampier, so ithink his mediocre numbers will go down for him. he brags that 53% still see himas strong, which is not a bad number, and is one of hisstrengths, i would actually concede some of that, but again, for the context, he's at 53, obama was at 77% for strength inhis first 100 days. now, back to good news fordonald trump. among those who report havingvoted for him in november, 96%
today said it was the rightthing to do, a mere 2% regret it. wow. so, despite all the bumbling, fumbling, the ridiculous statements, the failures onpolicy, having achieved almost nothing legislative inhis first 100 days, not having delivered on any of hispromises ã± the wall, travel ban, you name it ã± still, only 2% ofhis supporters have backed away. the rest are like, rock 'n roll, that's my guy.
well, that's, at a minimum, alittle depressing, because it shows that at least some ofthose people are impervious to facts. he did the travel ban, which gotvoted down, but it was as bigoted as advertised, so peopleã± so some people who voted for him think good, do what you gotto do, go to the third travel ban. and for all of his faults, atleast he brags about himself. it's a funny complement.
obama would have had all thesemassive accomplishments, add millions of jobs and youwould never hear about it. with donald trump, he had 70job somewhere and he's like, i'm the best job creator ever, i'mthe greatest with job creation, i'll do so much job creation itwill make your head spin. that's all his followers need tohang their hopes on. it's also possible, and i thinkvery likely that those good folks, and some bad folks, havenot gotten all the facts yet on donald trump.
and the thing is, it's not mesaying, once you find out we are right about policy ã± no,you'll see. he will either create jobs, orhe won't. he'll either get us intointernational messes, or he won't. and then he won't be able tohide. one hundred days is almostnothing. he says things like that aboutwhat he has accomplished, i'm saying about hisincompetence.
you think he's been incompetentso far? you haven't seen anything yet. give him some time, and i tookthis disaster is heading straight for him. but he's not the only one. the democratic party, in evenworse shape. 67% say the democratic party isout of touch with the concerns of most americans ã± even morethan say the same about donald trump, and similar to thenumber for the republican party.
62%. the democratic party isconsidered more out of touch than the republican party. what a miserable failure thedemocratic party is. if the democratic party was whatused to be, actually stand up with the average citizens, standup for workers in america, stand up for progressive policies ã± bythe way, progressive policies that are right now and currentlypopular in the country ã± well, then they would have a muchbetter standing than they
do today. instead, i think somewhatrightfully, the american people are thinking, while thedemocratic party is the establishment. we've got to take over thedemocratic party. these guys are absolutelyhopeless. if you don't go in a progressivedirection, and you keep letting these saint ã± the same democratsgo a corporate direction, they could lose to donald trumpagain the next time.
i got depressing news on thatbut let me finish with the democrats. abc news explains that this is asteeply negative turn for the democrats. 19 percentage points morecritical than my last asked just three years ago, includingespecially steep losses in their base. because their base is waking upand realizing, you are not serving me, you are serving yourdonors, so i've had enough
of it. so, what would happen if theelection were held today? of course it's an imperfectquestion, but nonetheless, the answers are interesting, and ata minimum somewhat informative. so they explained. "while donald trump would retainalmost all of his support if the election were held again today, fewer of clinton supporters said they'd stick with her at 85%,producing a 40 ã± 42% clinton ã± dump results in a hypotheticalredo among self-reported to
thousand 16 voters. "youunderstand, that's hillary clinton 40, donald trump 43. he has gained points on her, hehas gained popularity on her. so of course he rushed out andtweeted that he would still beat hillary in popular vote. you never beat her in the firstplace, she beat you like 2.8 million votes in the popularvote, you won because of the electoral college.
and in an associated pressinterview he said that the electoral college favors thedemocrats. is that why we've had twoelections in the last 15 years whether democrats won thepopular vote but lost the electoral college? he is not attached to reality, but the folks who are attached to reality, and evenmore important in this case is the democratic party. they are just not that into you.
corporate democrats, the votersare just not into you. they get it, you take thecorporate money and you represent those guys. if you don't turn aroundimmediately, you are going to lose again to this buffoon. you are going to lose again tothe republicans. to be more popular and out oftouch than the republican party now is so abysmal that youhardly have words for it. it's embarrassing.
and you estimate the media, they are like, oh no, the democratic incumbents arepragmatic winners. progressives are not pragmatic, they don't know how to win. this is what you call winning? they lost to donald trump, wouldlose worse to him today. they lost the house, he lost thesenate, they lost the supreme court, and they are moreunpopular than the republicans, and did everyone in themainstream press says that they are more progress ã± that theyare more pragmatic and know how
to when more than progressives. go to justicedemocrats.com. and they still can't beat him! the democratic party is inshambles. we've got to immediately takeit over and headed in the right direction. not because we are idealisticand don't know how to win, but because we actually do want towin, and the way to win is not what the democrats are doingtoday, but to be fighting much
harder, much stronger and muchmore progressive. that leads to more victories, not less victories. these are the facts. young turks.
